Position Overview

The IT Administrator provides comprehensive IT and Audio-Visual support to the Texas Exes, ensuring innovative, efficient, dependable, and secure systems. This role requires projecting a professional image through in-person, online, and virtual interactions. The IT Administrator is responsible for managing and troubleshooting a variety of technical issues, supporting the organization’s IT infrastructure, and ensuring smooth operation of all technological aspects. This includes everything from basic user support to maintaining complex systems and networks. The ideal candidate will possess strong problem-solving skills, the ability to work independently, and a customer service-oriented approach.

This position reports to the Director of IT and works alongside one other IT Administrator. Our team values innovation, collaboration, and dedication to our mission. This role is hybrid, requiring four days per week in the office, with flexibility based on the needs of the organization.

 

Major Job Functions

  • Audio-Visual Support: Set up and support A/V equipment for meetings and events.
  • Level III IT Support: Provide support for computers, printers, and other peripheral devices.
  • Technical Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot, set up, and configure computers, and Windows servers.
  • A/V Systems Management: Maintain and support all A/V systems.
  • Virtual Meetings: Assist with the setup and management of virtual meetings
  • Experience with Microsoft Server Technologies: Provide support, maintenance, and monitoring of Windows servers.
  • Network Management: Monitor and support firewall and network hardware.
  • Software Support: Support for MS-Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), MS365, Azure, and Teams Phone, and related technologies.
  • User Setup: Set up accounts and IT hardware for new users.
  • Staff Training: Provide basic IT training for staff.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain various IT manuals and documentation.
  • Project Management: Manage IT projects in collaboration with the IT team.
  • Helpdesk Support: Maintain the helpdesk and respond to helpdesk requests.
  • Device Management: Manage and configure devices using Microsoft Intune.
  • After-Hours Support: Attend and/or provide on-call and after-hours support for evening and weekend events as needed.
     

Essential Job Requirements/Experience 

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Windows OS, Mac OS, Windows Server, VMware, and Microsoft 365, Veeam, MS Teams, Intune, Azure
  • Troubleshooting: Ability to troubleshoot effectively under pressure during events and meetings.
  • Networking: Knowledge of network operation and security.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Decision-Making: Ability to make sound decisions and work autonomously.
  • Professionalism: Maintain a professional attitude and presentation.
  • Flexibility: Availability to attend evening and weekend events as required.
  • Innovation: Recommendations to enhance IT business systems, optimize operational efficiency, and reduce cost.

  • A/V Systems: Experience working with Extron Audio Visual control systems and Biamp Audio systems.
  • Technology Enthusiast: Demonstrates a strong interest in leading-edge technology.
  • Customer Service: Maintain a customer service attitude when dealing with staff members and the public.
  • Websites: Experience working with Drupal and WordPress based CMS’s is a plus.
