Welcome to the Texas Exes Sustainability Alumni Network!

The Texas Exes Sustainability Alumni Network serves to activate a global community among The University of Texas at Austin alumni to work towards a more sustainable future for all.

Our central aim is to foster inclusive and open dialogue and build meaningful connections across different disciplines and sectors, linking and amplifying the diverse perspectives of alumni, students, faculty, and members of the wider sustainability community.  Key dialogue themes include but are not limited to ESG (environmental, social, governance), climate, biodiversity, water, circularity, Just Transition, sustainable food and agriculture, social impact and justice.

Our Network builds on the past work of dedicated students and faculty to elevate sustainability on campus. This includes the establishment of sustainability focused degrees, beginning nearly 20 years ago, and the formation of the Campus Environmental Center in 2001, a campus organization connecting like minded students engaged with environmental issues on campus.

Mission

Our mission is to advance sustainability in partnership with The University of Texas at Austin alumni, students, faculty, staff, and the wider community by sharing knowledge, inspiring action and collaboration, and driving real world impact at the University and worldwide.

Network’s Strategic Focus Areas:

  1. Sustainability Impact: Amplify the collective impact of the growing alumni network through targeted initiatives and advisory support for sustainability efforts within and beyond campus.

  2. Relationship-Building: Foster meaningful relationships to support career and personal development through networking opportunities to connect sustainability-focused alumni to each other and to the campus community.

  3. Education & Awareness: Advance sustainability education by serving as a knowledge hub, fostering dialogue on sustainability topics, and promoting campus sustainability studies and programs.
