Duties of the UT Advocates for Higher Education Committee Chair

  1. Attend all board meetings
  2. Host committee meetings outside of the board meetings
  3. Communicate with committee volunteers on a regular basis
  4. Welcome new volunteers to committee via e-mail
  5. Sign up as a member of the UT Advocates for Higher Education Network
  6. Ensure that all legislative advocacy on behalf of UT is issue-oriented and completely non-partisan
  7. Keep in touch with the Association’s Public Policy Director so you are up to date on the important issues
  8. Encourage others in your Network to get involved as UT Advocates and sign up online - http://www.texasexes.org/form/legislative.asp
  9. Attend UT’s Legislative Day at the Capitol and any other legislative events held by the Association if possible
    • Send another delegate from the Networks area if not possible
  10. Remind Network leaders to include an invitation to local legislators to appropriate Network events
