Growing up, "how can I help?" was a common phrase out of my mouth. In high school, I chose activities where I could engage in opportunities to build communities around me. Since then, I always sought opportunities to make an impact on the people around me. During my time on the Forty Acres, I have been able to pursue my interest in finance and investing through my involvement on the University Securities Investment Team and after securing an internship in New York, to give back to McCombs by mentoring students while recruiting for investment banking and investing roles in NYC as the co-chair of Wall Street for McCombs.

In addition to these opportunities to give back, the Forty Acres Scholars Program has enabled me to study finance and valuation at the London School of Economics in England for a summer. This experince shaped my understanding of my professional goals; I found that I could combine my analytical and communication skills with my interest in growing companies and emerging industries. I found myself as an investment banking analyst at Moelis & Company, a boutique investment bank, in New York.

After graduating in May 2023, I plan to return to Moelis as an analyst and to pursue career in high finance and potentially investing. Forty Acres has propelled my college experience by providing me with opportunities to ask "how can I help?" or "how can I make a difference?" I will always be grateful for my experience in the Forty Acres Scholars Program for its support in me connecting with inspiring mentors, forming a community of peers who inspire me, and discovering more of the world during my educational journey. I am so excited to see how I can continue making an impact as a Texas Ex after graduation.

What drew you to the Forty Acres Scholars Program (FASP)?
The pillars of the Forty Acres Scholars Program and how I could identify them in each Scholar my senior drew me to pursue this program. When I learned about the opportunities to discover, connect, and bond with the world as enabled by the program, I envisioned myself capitalizing each opportunity that could cross my path. The ability to engage in the global community with the enrichment stipend further drove me to not only consider but fully pursue an international experience. I thrive off listening to others explain their deep interests and experiences, and the passionate people I interacted with during the program's Finalist Weekend led me to fall in love with not only Forty Acres Scholars Program, but also The University of Texas at Austin.

Favorite FASP Memory:
My favorite memories from FASP were the smaller ones. The senior trip to Mexico City was so exciting, and the annual Scholarship Dinner was a massive production. Despite these exciting opportunities, my favorite memories are ones like walking into the staff office to hang with Whitney and Riley or visiting Marilyn on her porch with Diet Coke in Plano. I loved jumping on Zoom calls with incredible Texas Exes on Friday mornings or meeting scholar alumni who have become incredible mentors and friends. The little moments of members of my cohort becoming my lifelong friends are more impactful than any of our individual, life-changing accomplishments during our time on the Forty Acres.
