Some of my earliest memories are from poring over fact books filled with diagrams, history blurbs, and detailed blueprints. Trying to understand how events of the past can shape the way we build cities, practice medicine, and approach inequity is what drew me to major in History on the pre-med track. Researching diabetes in East Austin, leading an organization devoted to pursuing medicine with an interdisciplinary focus, and having access to incredible professors have allowed me to explore the importance of human-focused design in urban planning and healthcare delivery. I'm excited to continue exploring all that Austin has to offer from its outdoor spaces to live music and an innovative food scene!

What drew you to the Forty Acres Scholars Program (FASP)?
When I was applying to colleges and I was trying to distill exactly what I wanted from my college experience, I found that community was consistently at the top of the list. Having attended a small private school in Houston, I was under the impression that I needed a smaller school to find the same sense of community and feel the same connection that I felt at St. John’s. I quickly found that I was wrong. Having an entire cohort of passionate, supportive, and motivated individuals who come from different backgrounds, yet are committed to pursuing their visions of tomorrow, motivates me to be the best that I can be.
