When I moved to Texas at the beginning of my sophomore year of high school, I was apprehensive. Filled with preconceived ideas about what it meant to be Texan, I had a bad attitude, no question. What I experienced the next few years, however, blew me away. Texas has become a home and a heart, filled with loving friends and new experiences. Texas' abundance of life and adventure is paralleled at UT.
I am honored to have spent my time at the University of Texas as a Forty Acres Scholar. I am deeply grateful to the Texas Exes for supporting my academic and personal journey. I look forward to using what I have learned here on the forty acres to serve my community and my country. I am excited to continue to learn and grow, and give back to the institution that has shaped me into the Longhorn I am today. Hook 'em!

What drew you to the Forty Acres Scholars Program?
The exceptional financial, academic, and personal investment Texas Exes makes in each scholar drew me to the Forty Acres Scholars Program. The program is unrivaled at UT in its commitment to its students. When I became a Forty Acres Scholar, I joined an exceptional academic community but I also became a member of a family.
