My admiration for the fine arts began since I made the choice to take an introductory art classes in eight grade. Since then, I continued pursuing primarily traditional art, but then even venturing to try other performing arts such as marching band and even dance. When deciding a path to pursue in college, there was a desire to keep on building on the creativity that had been developed in high school, leading me to pursue architecture. Having been a part of a variety of clubs and organizations in high school, when getting to UT the first thing I sought was different clubs and organizations outside of my major. I have been a part of different dance groups, architectural, and engineering clubs and even a part of a Greek organization. This diversity in organizations has led me to meet a variety of people across different majors showing me more of what UT has to offer in terms of population.

I was drawn to the Forty Acres Scholar Program because of the uniqueness of this scholarship in that it is a group of like-minded people as opposed to just a check you get in the mail. Getting to meet this cohort of students my first year showed me other driven studentslike me.
