Since coming to Austin and the University of Texas, I have fallen in love with entrepreneurship and Austin’s startup ecosystem. While at UT, I’ve started two companies, as well as launched the Genesis Program, UT’s first pre-seed capital fund for student entrepreneurs. Outside of school, I lead Flo Recruit (florecruit.com) which enables organizations to hire the best talent by facilitating employee feedback on candidates. In my free time, I love eating my way through Austin (Botticelli’s is the best) and spending quality time with friends.

What drew you to the Forty Acres Scholars Program (FASP)?
When I came to UT as a senior in high school for Finalist Weekend, I knew I wanted to be a part of this program because of its emphasis on creating lasting relationships and developing the individual. The Forty Acres Scholars Program is so much more than a check, and that was evident by the leadership of the scholarship team as well as the current students in the program. Now that I am a Forty Acres Scholar, I can genuinely say that I made the right decision because I have met friends who will not only change the world, but also impact my life for many years to come.
What makes your scholar cohort unique?
Our scholar cohort loves to have a good time. During retreats, we never fail to create memories through silly adventures. From climbing through caves at Enchanted Rock to tubing down a river in the pouring rain, our cohort always makes sure to have fun.
Favorite FASP Memory
My favorite FASP memory was huffing and puffing as we climbed up Machu Picchu and during our hike, deciding as a cohort that our adventures together should continue after our graduation dates. As of now, we’ve decided to do a cohort trip every 5 years.
