The 2022-2023 Spirit Program includes student athletes across our cheer, pom and mascot teams. Over the last decade, the scale of the program has expanded to meet the growing demands placed on the spirit program. Beyond practice and cheering games, the team also makes appearances at university, alumni and community events. Just this past year, Texas Cheer, Pom, and Hook ‘Em participated in over 200 events.
Co-Ed (Orange squad). Co-Ed is comprised of students, cheering for home and away football games, men’s home basketball games, and most tournament and playoff games. Co-Ed also shows support for soccer, baseball, softball, and other athletic events when needed.
All-Girl (White squad). All-Girl is comprised of students, cheering for home football games, women’s home basketball games, home volleyball games, and most tournament and playoff games. White squad also supports soccer, baseball, softball, and other athletic events when needed.
In addition, White squad competes in Stunt. Stunt is a new tournament style competition involving core cheerleading techniques demonstrated through pyramid, stunt, basket, and tumbling skills. Stunt was recently featured on the Longhorn Network. Take a look!
Hook ‘Em (Mascot group). The current Hook ‘Em group is made up of five talented mascots. Hook ‘Em is seen throughout campus at sporting events and University of Texas functions, entertaining the heart of Longhorn Nation. In addition, Hook ‘Em competes each year in UCA College Mascot Nationals.
