There is a certain beauty to understanding–understanding people, understanding the world. Every day, I nurture my understanding by striving to be a kinder person, a sharper thinker.

I pursue understanding inside and outside of the academic realm. During high school, my exploration of business and technology, coupled with my journalistic endeavors, revealed to me how intriguing and essential various disciplines are. In the process, I grew a deep appreciation for both STEM and the humanities. I loved the investigative aspect of it all: pursuing questions, uncovering answers. Through business, it is my goal to unite analysis and creativity to impact.

I think in stories; everything is a story to be discovered, explored, and understood. Math is a story of systems, journalism is a story of human truth, art is a story of passion. The world is, in essence, a laboratory for infinite stories. And how exciting is that?

What drew you to the Forty Acres Scholars Program?
When I first learned about the Forty Acres Scholars Program, I remember thinking how perfectly its three pillars–community, connection, and discovery–aligned with what I valued in my college experience. I sought community within UT, connection with mentors, and discovery of knowledge and perspective. And I had always hoped to study abroad, which the program would make possible. Yet it wasn’t until Finalist Weekend that I saw just how meaningful the program is. What stood out to me most was how genuine the upperclassmen scholars were, how they exuded both confidence and compassion. I also saw how proud and supportive UT alumni were of the school and its students. It is truly the people who make the Forty Acres Scholars program what it is, and I am incredibly thankful to be a part of it all.
