Social Events

For two years now, the Texas Exes France Network have co-hosted an event with chapters/clubs from other American universities and colleges living in and around Paris. Each spring, these alumni chapters come together and sponsor a cocktail reception at the U.S. Ambassador’s Residence. Last year, the Texas Exes France Network invited over 50 UT students who were participating in an exchange program in Paris to attend the event. It not only provided an excellent networking opportunity for the students, but it gave the local UT alumni a chance to reconnect with their campus, and relive their own student experience. Allez, les Horns!!

2015 Farewell MPA Students Reception at American Universities Club

Some student impressions:

The reception at the embassy was a fantastic experience. I was able to network with many accomplished and interesting people, including some Texas Exes. I had the pleasure of meeting the U.S. Ambassador to France and hear her remarks. I would recommend the experience to any American in France! Alexandros Barouxis MPA

Working at the reception for the American Universities Club was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. It was so intriguing to meet people from all over the U.S. and the world and to hear them all together with this organization. It was also a great opportunity for more cultural immersion, as we got to observe how a truly Parisian event comes together (and even continues on in celebration after!). It was an honor to participate. Hook 'em!Lauren Miller MPA

I was so excited to get the chance to meet UT Alumni in Paris! It was a great experience to chit-chat with them with a cup of nice champagne in the gorgeous reception building. I felt like I was in the U.S. again! I hope I can follow up with my UT peers years after I graduate, just as they did. Ting-Ting Wong MPA.
