Texas Exes Teaching Awards

Texas Exes Teaching Awards
Professor and TA/IA Nomination Form

(Any student may nominate a professor and/or TA/AI)

Nominations are now being solicited for the 2012 Texas Exes Teaching Awards. The purpose of these awards is to promote quality teaching at The University of Texas by publicly recognizing professors who have had a positive influence on the educational experience of university students.

The $1000 awards are provided annually for a professor in each school and college. A $500 award is also presented to a Teaching Assistant or Assistant Instructor in each school and college. Recipients are selected by students, organized through various college councils and coordinated through the Texas Exes and the Senate of College Councils. For more information, contact Katie Lauck at (512)232-5866.

The persons selected should demonstrate warmth of spirit, concern for society and the individual, the ability to impart knowledge while challenging students to independent inquiry and creative thought, and respect for an understanding of the permanent value of our culture.

  • For the professor award ($1000), students may nominate Assistant Professors, Associate Professors, full Professors, Senior Lecturers, Lecturers, or the equivalent of these titles in each school and college (no visiting professors).
  • For the TA/AI award ($500), students may nominate teaching assistants or assistant instructors. The TA/AI award is intended to go to a student pursuing graduate studies who also teaches.
  • It is the quality of the nomination, not the quantity, that influences the selection committee.

Nominations are now closed. Thank you for your interest!
